Sumperk virtual tour during 70th anniversary
Members of the public are being offered a unique opportunity to take a virtual tour of one of Dormer Pramet’s key production unit’s and main R&D facility.
This interactive tool provides a glimpse into the indexable inserts manufacturing process, covering each stage from pressing through to packaging. In addition to the production unit, it also offers a summary of the product development and training capabilities available at Dormer Pramet’s modern XP Center, both of which are located in Šumperk, Czech Republic.
Dormer Pramet is a global manufacturer of cutting tools, with more than 2,200 employees around the world. The Šumperk site is the company’s headquarters and this year marks it’s 70th anniversary.
Cutting tools have been produced at the facility in the Czech Republic since 1951 and has since grown to become a leading supplier of inserts and indexable tools, under the Pramet brand, around the world.
The virtual tour is available from https://dpsumperk.site and allows users to view the manufacturing facility without being physically present. All the information provides a general overview and suitable for all levels of knowledge. This makes it an ideal resource for business partners and the educational sector to learn more about how cutting tools are produced.
Offering an easy and simple format, the dynamic tour has been split into 17 stages, each of which runs for about 20-40 seconds and can be navigated to independently by the user.
The tour guide Denis provides the information in English for global use, but subtitles in 19 languages are available to make the content as accessible as possible around the world.
