Eduardo Martin became the new President of Dormer Pramet on 1 February 2022.

In his first interview since the appointment, we find out more about Eduardo, his background within the Sandvik organisation, and how he can support Dormer Pramet’s growth ambitions.  
 
Lives: Madrid, Spain
Family: I am happily married with Beatriz and we have two children. My son Daniel is 27 years old and lives in Milan, Italy. My daughter Laura, who is 25, still lives with us in Madrid.  
Hobbies: Playing golf, which I try to do once a week if I can, and spending time with my family. I enjoy meeting people, getting to know different languages and cultures. I like engaging and communicating with people around the world. I enjoy gadgets and playing with new technology as soon as they arrive on the market.
Languages: Spanish, English, Swedish, Italian, and Portuguese.

Education: Technical Engineering Degree in Machine Tools and an Executive Master's in Business and Administration.
 
How do you feel about the appointment?
I am really excited about the opportunity to join the Dormer Pramet team and I am looking forward to it. This is a new challenge, something I am ready to embrace and ready to take on.
 
Can you tell us more about yourself?
I have been with the Sandvik Group since 1988, and my longest position was my previous role, six years as Senior Vice President - Head of Global Sales at Sandvik Coromant. I have lived in four different countries, including Sweden, Italy, USA and Spain. During this time, I have had several different positions within the company.
 
Where did you start your career with Sandvik?
I began in production, working on a grinding machine for milling inserts. I have been a designer of special tools and product manager engineer for Sandvik Automation company. Also, I was product manager engineer for short hole making products in Sweden for three years. I have been managing director for Iberica (Spain and Portugal) then also Italy, as well as working as President for the Americas sales area.
 
What do you know about Dormer Pramet?
I have had previous experience with Dormer Tools, working with the brand and product portfolio to support the Iberian market at the time. Also, when the indexable assortment within the Pramet brand was launched in America, I worked closely with the team in that market. 

I know the company is agile, dynamic and efficient, while also being well spread across the globe.
It is still quite a young organisation after being developed in 2014, but its product brands have extensive histories and strong market presence. Also, Dormer Pramet is growing significantly, following a couple of successful acquisitions recently, so I am pleased to join at this moment in its history.  
 
How can you help Dormer Pramet to deliver its growth ambitions?
I am keen to be a member of the team working towards our growth journey with everyone. I have experience in a diverse range of areas. From production to products, but also commercially too. I have knowledge on how to run a business in many different countries, taking onboard the various cultures when working in a global organisation. I know the markets which will be attractive and important for Dormer Pramet to grow in. As a company we are very ambitious, and I like that. I like to win! I am really looking forward to the challenge ahead and supporting any way I can.
