Our solid carbide cutter program drives production efficiencies in a wide range of machines, applications and material types. This includes multi-material cutters ideal for general machining operations and specific geometries designed for machining particular work group materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, titanium and nickel alloys. Numerous unequal helix, corner radius, ripper and ball nose variants are available as standard.
Dormer Pramet's comprehensive range of slot drills and end mills are manufactured from a premium grade of sintered powder metal cobalt (HSS-E-PM), providing the perfect combination of impact strength and wear resistance. As such, they represent the first choice for workpiece materials that cannot be machined at high cutting data and in applications that have a less stable set-up.
Dormer Pramet has always offered a very wide range of indexable cutting tools. These include shoulder mills, which come in a range of types - from smaller, double edge end mills such as the SAD07D with ADMX inserts to the impressively deep shoulder mills such as the J(T)-SSAP.
Our range of face mills also offers a variety of choices based on your needs. Our face milling range includes everything from smaller 45⁰ end mills to arbor style face mills 315 mm in diameter.
High-feed milling is a method that is increasingly being used to make machining more efficient. Dormer Pramet’s smooth cutting high-feed milling cutters are available in a range of types, such as modular,cylindrical or arbor style.
Dormer Pramet offers a wide range of slot milling cutters and chamfer milling cutters made of HSS or HSS-E, and with indexable inserts.
This range also includes T-slot milling cutters, dove tail and inverted dove tail cutters and profile milling cutters.
Copy milling is often used to produce mould tools, usually made of tough tool steels. This places stringent demands on tool geometry and coating so as to achieve the best results and tool life. Dormer Pramet has a tried and tested range of HSS-E and solid carbide copy milling cutters, as well as indexable milling cutters.
Solid carbide burrs are very useful tools for finishing component edges and welded joints, for example. Our range includes carbide burrs for most applications.
